INTRODUCTION TO

THE GLAMORGAN OFF ROAD CLUB


Glamorgan Off Road Club is a non-marque Off Road Club which caters for all types of 4×4s whatever the make, model & level of modification to the vehicle.
We run 4×4 Trials & Safaris throughout the year.

The trials include sections to cater for vehicles of all specs from factory built 4×4s to fully modified. We offer a variety of terrain for all levels of experienced drivers & offer assistance & advice to novice drivers.

G.O.R.C. was first established in June 1988 as an off road club catering for all aspects of recreational off road enjoyment. The club & committee meet monthly on the third Tuesday of the month at The Glancynon Inn, Swansea Road, Hirwaun, Aberdare and a social pub meet at The Cockleshell in Gorseinon, Swansea Every 4th Monday of the month .These are meetings open to all members and potential new members who would like to see what the club can offer.

Throughout the year, we organise various events from off road 4×4 fun days, RTV/Cherished Vehicle and full-modified vehicle trials and speed events such as Safaris. The club is registered with the R.A.C. M.S.A. and authorised to organise motor sport competitions. Club events are organised each month throughout the year where new and inexperienced members will be given, advice and coaching if necessary from members with much off roading experience.

There are caterers at some, and First Aid/medical cover at all competitive events. There will always be something for members to do; events always require organisers and marshals etc. A monthly news sheet is sent to each member giving details of all club activities, so if you are unable to make it to one of the meetings, you’re not left in the dark.

The club has access to various excellent off road sites throughout South Wales and is always on the look out for more, so if you know of any land that you think may be suitable please let us know. From time to time, we also organise open days where members of the public can bring their 4×4 and take them off road on scenic drives with help and guidance if necessary.
